The women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. -- Rho Eta Zeta Chapter of Anne Arundel County offer scholarships annually to deserving graduating female seniors. Over the past 6 years, we have awarded more than $20,000 to students from the Anne Arundel County School District.

The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated Rho Eta Zeta Chapter Launches the

 Donna Y. Alston Academic Award and the White Rose of Excellence Scholarships.

 

The dedicated women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Rho Eta Zeta Chapter bring greetings to you as we enter a new year of celebrating the accomplishments of graduating high school seniors in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. As we embark upon our 2023 - 2024 sorority year of awarding scholarships to deserving young women, we continue to see the resilience within our community, the value of scholarship, and the continued need to engage in service.

 

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. was founded on January 16, 1920, on the campus of Howard University by our Five Pearls, Arizona Cleaver Stemons, Pearl Anna Neal, Myrtle Tyler Faithful, Viola Tyler Goings, and Fannie Pettie Watts.

 

The Rho Eta Zeta Chapter offers financial assistance to high school seniors towards enrollment into a 4-year college/university program that meets the eligibility requirements. All awardees must be enrolled in a 4-year college/ university program by September 30, 2024.

 

Donna Y. Alston was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. - Rho Eta Zeta Chapter. Prior to her passing, Ms. Alston dedicated her life to helping students with disabilities achieve their educational goals. It was from her vision that the Rho Eta Zeta Chapter established a scholarship. In honor of Donna Y. Alston’s legacy, the women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. in Anne Arundel County offer a scholarship annually to a deserving graduating female senior who has overcome significant obstacles to achieve academic excellence.

 

The White Rose Scholarship of Excellence is to a graduating female senior in Anne Arundel County with an exceptionally high GPA, outstanding community service, and who embodies the founding principles of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. – Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.

All applicants seeking financial assistance in the form of a scholarship must follow the procedures below and submit their application by the deadline date of March 31, 2024. If you are awarded one of our scholarships, your Guidance Counselor will be notified via phone and email, and an official letter from Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Rho Eta Zeta Chapter will be sent to your current address. Only scholarship recipients will be notified.

The completed application, along with the required documents must be submitted via Google form no later than March 31, 2024. Applications that are submitted late and incomplete will not be considered. Please make sure that you have read and understand all the guidelines of the scholarship application, which can be found on the website under the Scholarship tab. If you meet the eligibility requirements listed, we encourage you to apply for this scholarship.
